Born in New Orleans · Heard 'Round the World
Signature Track
A groove that crossed every border. Born from the swamps and streets of New Orleans, "New Age Girl" became one of the defining sounds of the early '90s — raw, irreverent, and impossible to shake. Selected for the Dumb and Dumber feature film soundtrack, the song hit the national charts and introduced the world to what New Orleans had been cooking all along. A Billboard chart-topping global smash with multiple college chart hits, 100M+ streams, and multi-platinum global record sales — Deadeye Dick proved the Crescent City still had plenty left to say.

The Band
Deadeye Dick was formed in New Orleans in 1991 — vocalist and guitarist Caleb Guillotte, bassist Mark Adam Miller, and drummer Billy Landry — three players who took their name from a Kurt Vonnegut novel and their sound from the streets of the Crescent City. Fusing alternative rock energy with a deep funk groove and a distinctly Southern wit, the band built a loyal regional following before landing a deal with Ichiban Records.
Their debut album A Different Story introduced "New Age Girl" to the world. When the song was selected for the Dumb and Dumber film soundtrack in 1994, everything changed — massive radio rotation, a national chart climb, and stages far beyond the Gulf Coast. The band took it in stride. They'd been playing to crowds like the one behind them in this photo long before the rest of the country caught up.
Rooted in the tradition of a city that invented jazz, birthed rock & roll, and perfected the second line, Deadeye Dick proved that a trio from New Orleans could write a song the whole world would remember. The groove never stopped.
